Continuous Control Solutions (CCS) offers control system upgrades of both mechanical and early electronic control systems for a variety of control platforms.
The turbo machinery systems designed by CCS will provide you with complete control for your driver (gas turbines, steam turbines, expanders) and driven units (compressors, pumps, generators).
Available control applications are speed control, load control, surge prevention control, frequency control, pressure control, alarm and event handling, as well as automated turbine/compressor starts and stops.
Implementing CCS’ applications will help you to achieve operation on lowest possible power consumption due to highest accuracy and availability of surge prevention control and unsurpassed load balancing techniques for multiple units:
• State of the art surge prevention techniques use patented compressor pressure ratio control methods; it minimizes compressor recycle even when compressor flow indications are not available.
• Load balancing of multiple turbo machinery units/trains on actual efficiency of gas turbine, compressors and/or generators without compromising dynamic control during upsets – payback times less than a year.
• Balancing strategies specifically developed for units different in size and rapidly changing process conditions.
• Patented Efficiency Comparator provides objective analysis of unit or plant operation at different conditions or circumstances.
• Unit Benchmarking during normal operation, provides time estimation before unit overhaul, water wash, preventive maintenance and prevents unnecessary shutdowns.
We only utilize leading third-party off-the-shelf hardware and software products to implement our patented algorithms. All turbo machinery control applications are developed according to specific rules and requirements, which ensure the compatibility of applications with the vendor software package:
• Implementation of critical turbo machinery controls on any IEC61131 compliant hardware platform offering multi-level availability classes like SIL2 and SIL3. You may even choose your hardware platform, thereby reducing the need for additional spare parts and training expenses.
• Special tuning and maintenance screens for testing and validating your turbo machinery specific machinery parameters such as electronic overspeed testing and compressor surge line validation.
• All our turbo machinery control applications are configured, operated and maintained via a selected HMI software package vendor. The control applications use a limited, pre-defined set of configuration parameters.
Our turbo machinery control applications can also be integrated into the existing train control system. This integration results in an increased train control system availability, reliability and reduced system cost as dedicated turbo machinery control processors, racks or power supplies are superfluous.
